Are you a yoga teacher or studio owner…or a committed bender with a passion for inspiring others to raise their voices?
Get your yoga community together and OM THE VOTE.
Here’s how:
Schedule an OM THE VOTE class between October 1-15, 2020. Make it free and make it fun.
Invite representatives from your local voter registrations organizations, like Indivisible.org to the event to help students look up their registration and be sure it’s current.
Research your state’s ballot and voting instructions. Make a flyer, in-studio poster or other resource for your event to help your students better understand the issues they’ll be voting on, how to get to the polls, how to fill out a ballot, etc. (one note: it works best to keep these neutral, so individuals can make their own choices.)
Plan for snacks, drinks, and even post-class entertainment. Doesn’t have to be fancy, could be a potluck! Give your community time to come together around their civic duties.
Put your own twist on the event as you like…just get ’em registered, informed and inspired.
Don’t forget to check your own registration! Life changes pretty fast…you never know when your voter registration might, too.
OM THE VOTE is a non-profit endeavor of the three dog yoga community in santa rosa, ca.
